Allen-Bradley Micro830 Programmable Logic Controller
An Allen-Bradley Micro830 programmable logic controller with 24VDC and 120VAC control circuits. This was a complex assembly, as it involved tying together four existing systems and ensuring that the emergency stop circuit could safely stop all machines involved. I took care to implement the same numbering system as on the primary machine’s schematic, to ensure the schematic of the added controls was precise, simple to follow, and contributed to a clear understanding of the operation of the entire system.
Three-Phase 277/480VAC Compressor Power Drops
Three-phase 277/480VAC power drops for four 100HP and two 50HP air compressors, and 120VAC power drops for airline drain solenoids. In the background, two three-phase 277/480VAC power drops were installed for air driers. High-efficiency LED fixtures with money-saving occupancy sensors illuminate the compressor room. Three 5HP 277/480VAC ventilation fans were installed on the roof and two 5HP ventilation fans in the interior walls. Multiple powered louver vents were installed in the exterior wall, and each fan and louver is individually controlled. This allows air to be drawn in from outside the building and exhaust out the roof in the warm season or into the production floor to reduce heating costs in the cold season.

Services are available on a “Pay as You Use” basis.
The base labor rate is $90; new service calls have a one-hour minimum, and the first hour is $125.
- Required parts are billed as needed.
- Service calls consisting of motor control, logic-based work (Programmable Logic Controllers, or PLCs), and labor consisting of drafting, engineering, programming, estimating classified (hazardous) locations, or energized components have additional base rates.
- Power quality, motor circuit analysis, programming/drafting, and de-energizing components also have an application fee.
- Emergency service repairs have increased rates after normal business hours.
- Contracts for larger or longer projects, as well as power quality and motor circuit analysis, can be negotiated.
